The Corkr Team are planning to be down in Bordeaux at the end of this month (all being well) for the annual En Primeur tastings, and will bring you their verdict over the subsequent weeks.
Jane Anson (decanter.com) says of the Bordeaux 2019 that “there is optimism for an excellent vintage with serious quality in the bottle.”
According to Gavin Quinney (gavinquinney.com)
“2019 saw a return to good yields across the board in the seven most prestigious areas. […] Margaux, Pomerol and Pessac-Léognan enjoyed 2016-type yields (or better) in 2019, with Saint-Émilion not too far behind. Saint-Julien and Saint-Estèphe continued a run of successful harvests, with Pauillac having improved production on the partially mildew-hit 2018.”
